Luther Muhammad on St. John's

Rivals.com four star shooting guard Luther Muhammad took in St. John’s Red Storm Tip-Off last weekend, and really enjoyed himself.

The No. 60 ranked prospect didn’t check out campus this go around, but the overall visit was satisfying. “My trip was good,” Muhammad said. “It was a good experience.”

Obviously one of the better players at his position, Muhammad has a lengthy list of suitors to compete with St. John’s. Along with his offer from the Red Storm, Seton Hall, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, San Francisco, Rider and VCU have also extended scholarship offers, according to Muhammed. Xavier, California, Arizona, St. Louis, SMU, Maryland, Miami, Louisville, Stanford, Villanova, LSU, Boston University, Florida and Kentucky are all showing interest.

But among that lengthy list of potential destinations, St. John’s stands out amongst the masses. “They are one of the top three schools that are recruiting me the most,” Muhammed told RedStormReport.com. “I am very likely to go back to St. John’s [to visit.]”

Muhammed is a good prospect with a vibrant personality, and is really approachable. His game is strong and there are a lot of things he does well on the floor. “Coaches tell me I shoot the ball really well,” he said. “I play hard, I play defense, I can create a shot for myself and I can get to the basket when I want.”

As for what he needs to improve, his message was clear. “There’s always something you have to work on or you can get better at,” he said. “I need to work on everything.”
