NEW YORK(AP) Jeff Foote had 19 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks to lead Cornell to a 71-66 victory over St. John's on Monday night in the championship game of the Holiday Festival at Madison Square Garden.

Jon Jacques had 20 points for the Big Red (9-2), who won their first title in their fourth appearance in the tournament and first since 1970.
Dwight Hardy had 19 points for the Red Storm (9-2), who were in the Festival for the record 44th time and were looking for their 15th title and first since 2005.
Foote, a 7-foot senior, finished 8 of 10 from the field and Cornell shot 57.1 percent (24 of 42).
Foote gave Cornell the lead for good with a move down low that made it 62-60 with 2:27 to play.
Jacques' fifth 3-pointer of the game gave Cornell a 67-62 lead with 31 seconds left.
