QUEENS, N.Y. – Sophomore Amar Alibegovic (Rome, Italy) has announced his intention to transfer from St. John’s following the spring semester. The 6-foot-9 forward will have two years of eligibility remaining.

“I’ve had a great experience at St. John’s and would like to thank the coaching staff and administration for all of their support the last two years,” said Alibegovic. “I am just looking for an opportunity where I can play more and continue to chase my dreams.”

“We respect Amar’s decision and wish him nothing but the best,” said Head Coach Chris Mullin. “He’s a good basketball player and a good person with a bright future ahead.”

Alibegovic came off the bench in 26 of 32 appearances, averaging 15.9 minutes per game for the Red Storm in 2015-16. He recorded 5.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and drained 26 3-pointers.
