STJ Rysheed Jordan Suspended For Team Rules Violation

QUEENS, N.Y. (Nov. 22, 2013) - St. John's head men's basketball coach Steve Lavin announced that freshman point guard Rysheed Jordan will miss the Friday matchup vs. Monmouth (9 p.m.) for a violation of team rules.

"We have high expectations for all of our student-athletes at St. John's," said Lavin. "We are hopeful that moving forward Rysheed will be able to meet his responsibilities and be able to rejoin our team on the court."

Jordan, the 2013-14 BIG EAST Conference Preseason Rookie of the year, is an explosive scorer and five-star playmaker ranked as high as the No. 3 point guard by national recruiting services. A gifted and versatile floor general rated 17th nationally in the ESPN 100, he has played in all three of St. John's season-opening games and is averaging 4.3 points and 2.3 assists in 18.3 minutes per outing.
