The 2012 Charleston Classic presented by Foster Grant, an eight-team men's college basketball tournament, will feature 12 games over the three days of action. Each team will compete in one game per day, advancing through a bracket-tournament format. The two teams that remain undefeated throughout will face off in a championship match. Northwestern won the 2011 tournament title. Previous winners include Clemson (2008), Miami (2009) and Georgetown (2010).
ESPN3 will have six exclusive games and ESPNU will air five, while the Championship Game will be shown on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2. All games will be available through WatchESPN, accessible online at WatchESPN.com and through smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.
The Red Storm's full schedule will be announced in the fall by the BIG EAST Conference, featuring a full slate of 19 games on St. John's home courts - on campus at Carnesecca Arena, and at Madison Square Garden, "The World's Most Famous Arena," which has served as a home for St. John's basketball with a longstanding, storied tradition for more than 77 years.
